Upon arriving at Cairo International Airport (CAI), you will be transferred to your hotel. Settle into your accommodation in downtown Cairo or Zamalek, where you’ll find plenty of budget-friendly options. Spend the evening resting and preparing for the adventures ahead.
Start your journey by visiting the iconic Giza Plateau, home to the Great Pyramid of Khufu, the Pyramid of Khafre, and the Pyramid of Menkaure. Don’t miss the nearby Sphinx and the Solar Boat Museum. In the evening, you can opt to watch the mesmerizing Sound and Light Show at the Pyramids for a truly magical experience.
After breakfast, head to the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir Square, where you’ll see priceless artifacts, including Tutankhamun’s golden mask. In the afternoon, wander through the bustling Khan El Khalili Bazaar, where you can shop for souvenirs and enjoy the vibrant atmosphere. Later, enjoy a relaxing tea at one of Cairo’s historic cafés.
In the morning, board a budget-friendly train or bus to Luxor, which takes about 9 hours. Upon arrival, check into your hotel and unwind. In the evening, take a leisurely walk along the Nile Corniche and enjoy the stunning views of the river at sunset.
Today is dedicated to exploring Luxor’s West Bank. Begin with the Valley of the Kings, where you can visit the tombs of Egypt’s most famous pharaohs, including Tutankhamun. Afterwards, explore the impressive Temple of Hatshepsut and the Colossi of Memnon. If time allows, you may also visit the Mummification Museum to learn more about ancient burial practices.
On Day 6, visit the majestic Karnak Temple Complex, which houses some of the largest religious structures in Egypt. In the afternoon, head to Luxor Temple, located right in the heart of the city. Its stunning illuminated façade is a must-see at dusk. You can also consider visiting the Luxor Museum if you have time.
Today, board a budget-friendly 3-day Nile cruise that will take you from Luxor to Aswan. Enjoy the stunning views of the Nile as you relax on the deck. The cruise offers plenty of opportunities for sightseeing, relaxation, and experiencing local culture, all at an affordable price.
On your final day, visit the beautiful Philae Temple, dedicated to the goddess Isis. You can also explore the Nubian Museum or take a short boat ride to Elephantine Island to discover the ancient heritage of Aswan. In the afternoon, take a flight or overnight train back to Cairo for your onward journey.
