Arrive at Srinagar Airport and proceed to your houseboat accommodation. Begin your day with a visit to the Mughal Gardens, including Shankar Acharya Temple, perched on a mountain with panoramic views of Dal Lake. Continue to explore Cheshma Shahi (Mughal Spring), Nishat Garden (also known as the ‘Garden of Pleasure,’ built by Mughal King Asif Khan in 1633), and Shalimar Garden (the ‘Garden of Love,’ built by Mughal King Jehangir in 1619 for his beloved wife Noor Jehan). Enjoy a serene Shikara Ride on Dal Lake, passing through Floating Gardens, Vegetable Gardens, Golden Lake, Meena Bazar, and canals. Capture the scenic beauty of Zabarwan Mountains. Enjoy an overnight stay on the houseboat in Srinagar.
After breakfast, depart for Pahalgam, the “Valley of Shepherds,” with en route stops at the Awantipura Ruins, Saffron Fields, and Cricket Bat Factories. On arrival at Pahalgam, explore the picturesque Betaab Valley, named after the famous Bollywood film Betaab, and surrounded by lush meadows, snow-capped mountains, and dense vegetation. Visit Aru Valley, a charming self-sufficient village just 12 km from Pahalgam, or head to Chandanwari, the starting point for the Amarnath Yatra (during July to August). You can hire a local taxi for these excursions (additional charges apply). Return to the hotel in the evening for some leisure time and overnight stay in Pahalgam.
After breakfast, depart for Gulmarg, also known as the “Meadow of Flowers.” This breathtaking destination was discovered by a Kashmiri poet in the 16th century. On arrival, explore the area on foot or by horse ride (at your own expense), as vehicles are not allowed inside. In winter, Gulmarg transforms into a premier ski resort, boasting one of the best ski slopes in the world and the highest golf course with 18 holes. Take a Gondola ride from Gulmarg to Kungdoor (1st Phase) and then to Afarwat (2nd Phase) for an unforgettable view (optional at your own expense). After a day of exploration, return to Srinagar for an overnight stay.
After breakfast, head to Sonamarg, meaning “Meadow of Gold,” named for its stunning golden meadows. The drive to Sonamarg is scenic, passing through towns, villages, and beautiful landscapes with rivers and paddy fields. In Sonamarg, visit the Thajiwas Glacier, located 4 km from the main area. Hire a local taxi or pony ride to reach the glacier (at your own expense). Return to Srinagar in the evening for leisure time, followed by an overnight stay at the hotel.
After breakfast at the hotel, proceed to Srinagar Airport for your onward flight, carrying with you sweet holiday memories of Kashmir.
